12 CHEMISTRY (GB)- BEST CHOICE web site
Using BEST CHOICE.NET.NZ
This is a great site for Chemistry. You could use it before tests and exams, if you've been away on a sports trip or sick for a while or just want to check out how your Chem learning is going this year. I'll even set homework from it.
Here's how to set yourself up on it:
Go to: bestchoice.net.nz
Enter: Institution- NZ High School
Enter: Username- Your first name and surname
Enter: Register New User (a blue box)
Then, on the next screen:
Complete the details page. You will create your own password.
When you get to the ENROL IN CLASS you need to get the class ID and class password for Ms Gibbs Chemistry class. (Can't put it here as it's top secret-only we can know!)
Once you're registered go back into the site.
Today we'll have a look at the Solubility Rules and Ppt Reactions sections.
Monday 2 March Spell 4: The formative assessment for 2.1 (Qualitative Chemistry)
Tuesday 1o March Spell 5: The summative assessment for 2.1 (Qualitative Chemistry)-4 credits
You have all made a great start to the year and I'm sure you'll all enjoy this site.

11LK science internal
Don't forget to carry out your research for the Climate Change internal. There was a good article in the Dominion Post World section this weekend. And don't forget your REFERENCES!!! The internal will be completed on Monday 2 March, so let Miss L know if you will not be there for any reason.
2009 AURORA ASTRONOMY SCHOOL
Year 12 and 13 Science Students
Have you ever wondered what is beyond our world, if other Earth-like planets exist or how black holes are formed? Perhaps you have thought about how the universe started, where we are in space and time and what will happen as the universe evolves.
If you have- then apply for a place on the Aurora Astronomy School. It’s a week long course in the next school holidays in Christchurch and Tekapo.
Thanks to a generous benefactor Astronomy School is free of charge. There are 20 places and applications are due in by Friday 6 March.
See your Science Teacher, the Science Department noticeboard or blog or www.outreach.ac.nz
